Promoting mental wealth in the recruitment industry

What exactly is mental wealth?

Mental wealth refers to the side of mental health which seems to be least talked about but most required in todays society. You’ve head or mental ill health or mental illness or mental health, but mental wealth is a concept that people don’t seem to catch on to until they’ve experienced a breakthrough. But why? The mental health and mental illness crisis going on in the world as we know it today uses an abundance of negative language to describe its effects on people, families, friendships and work relationships, and this has lead to it being supercharged by the media into becoming the only thing we know to be associated with mental health, negativity.

But mental wealth is the opposite side of the magnet, it’s positive. Mental wealth is the practice of focussing on everything that is great about our mental capabilities, it’s positive psychology, it’s everything that we CAN do, not everything that we can’t do!

Mental Wealth focusses around the use of gratitude, confidence building, emotional offloading in a safe environment, positive mental attitudes to everything and more.

How can we bring mental wealth into the recruitment industry?

As we know the recruitment industry is a ride in itself of emotions, both highs and lows, it moves at a pace most companies don’t, there’s little room for error and definitely little room for bad attitudes towards mental health. So how where does mental wealth fit?

Well, quite literally at the centre of everything the companies within the industry are trying to achieve. Mental wealth is all about being more positive, seeing the light in the darkness, practicing the daily habits which improve performance, promoting inclusivity, opening our mind to new possibilities.

As a recruitment business, when you are trying to land a new client, aren’t you trying to show them how your company will find them the best talent? The fittest individuals for the role? The kinds of candidates you would hire yourself to represent a company based on positive outcomes?

You quite literally use some of the core foundations of mental wealth to sell to a client on a daily basis, so why not use this same PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) to communicate and create a buzzing culture in your office?
